Temporary Whitespace Closure – Effective this Saturday

Online Yoga Classes

To our amazing Whitespace community,

To call the last week unprecedented, is the understatement of our lifetime.  Our hearts are heavy as we share this latest update with you.

We have made the difficult decision to temporarily close effective from Saturday 21 March, which means our last classes will be tomorrow – Friday.  From this date –

  • All current memberships (incl Intro Offers) will be automatically put on hold. There is no action required by you.
  • All class passes will be extended for the closure period
  • For any pre-booked classes after Friday, we will return the class credits to your account.
  • If you are booked into an upcoming Private Session, Workshop, Course or Teacher Training we will be in touch separately about this and we will make endeavours to reschedule these wherever possible.

We understand you might have a lot of questions during this time. We ask that you please bear with us while we communicate as best we can with everyone in our community.  As you can appreciate, our time and attention has been pulled in multiple directions over this past week – trying to respond to the daily announcements from the government, and the concerns of both our students and also our team and teachers whose livelihoods are currently at risk.   I’m sure you’re all facing similar struggles as we walk this ever-changing path of uncertainty. My thoughts and love goes out to each and every one of you and your families at this time.

We expect this temporary closure to last for weeks and possibly months. As the situation changes so rapidly, we’ll continue to assess daily and keep you informed of reopening plans. We know we have a responsibility to our community to be as cautious as possible, and that is what we’re trying to do.

Virtual Studio Coming Soon…….Supporting our Community of Customers, Staff and Teachers

While social distancing may be the word of the year, no member of our community should ever feel alone.  At this point it’s important we move through this together as we all navigate this unfamiliar territory; our mental health and wellbeing is more important than ever.

With that in mind, Whitespace is happy to announce, we’ll be offering online classes and services which will be easily accessible via our website or app. We’re working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring you these online classes with your favourite teachers!  We’ll be in touch with you in the next few days about how this will work – the class schedule, how to book and pay etc…   Our classes may look different than normal.  We’ll be substituting in studio props for easy to sub alternatives at home {yes, that can of beans was a good idea}.

Our goal is simple: to help you stay connected, healthy and well.  When we re-open the doors to the studio in coming weeks, we have the opportunity to be stronger, mentally and physically if we seize the chance offered to us today.

REAL TALK: Whitespace is currently facing its biggest challenge in our 10year history. Like many small businesses around the world, our income is disappearing and we’re doing our best to keep our heads above water. We remain optimistic we can weather this, and we want nothing more than for our doors to be open for you on the other side of this. But there’s no denying our business, staff and teachers are facing an uncertain future.  Our online offering is how we will stay open once this is over – how we can continue to support you and all of our community and pay our teachers and staff! So, I guess this is a bit of a war-cry…..kind of like a community crown-funding plea to stick with us. I know these are challenging times for everyone, but we would really appreciate your continued support while we navigate through these challenges. We will of course continue to offer free classes for those in the emergency services or in real financial hardship. We can do this and get through this but I need your help.

Thank you for your patience, kindness and compassion. Remember that you are part of a special community who can get through this together. The one thing we know for sure is, we’re lucky to have each other and this community is incredible. Thank you for being part of it.

Let’s keep the communication open, the support strong, and our hearts light as we flow through this collectively.

We’re all in this together.
